The bridge support at the south end of the bridge is deteriorating and require repair and strengthening to allow for continued access to the Locks Inn and the public moorings on the river Waveney. It is proposed to install a formwork in front of the bridge abutment and fill the cavity formed with concrete. At the same time the bridge platform will be reinforced.This will allow for safe passage of vehicles up to 18 tons to access the site.
