22A Town Street Marple Bridge Stockport SK6 5AA

This work concerns a garden arboretum containing a variety of diverse fir trees notably large sequoia. Applications are put in regularly for permission for care and maintenance of these trees. Three trees, plus a tree by the boundary overlooking the primary school education area, came down in the recent severe (February 2022) storms. Several other very large overlook an adjacent house. The remaining trees have been examined by North Cheshire Forestry and work on repair, trimming, and maintenance and more detailed examination is required urgently. At the same time, analysis is also being arranged with a certified tree health specialist to establish if further work is required as a matter of public safety and tree preservation. Trees will be replanted to replace those felled by the storm. HAR/CA20.

Holly Cottage Smithy Green Woodley Stockport SK6 1NG

The Sycamore tree is located at the junction of Smithy Green and High Lane and I assume it is under the preservation order Ref 314E Tree number T9 which pins the location of the tree. The tree Surgeon Chris Whyatt of North Cheshire Forestry Ltd came to view this tree on 26th August 2020 and confirmed that this Sycamore tree is dead and in dangerous condition and recommended this tree to be felled as soon as possible. This tree imposes immediate danger of deadwood falling onto the busy road below. This tree will therefore be felled and removed around 9th September 2020. I emailed the matter concerning this dead tree to Stockport Council Tree Preservation Officer Jim Mcgarrie on 27th August 2020 including photos of the dead tree, site sketch plan and email confirmation from the tree surgeon and work quotation. I will plant another specimen tree of a manageable size next to the dead tree in my garden but a little away from the main road. TPO#: 314E - T9
