Two Ash Trees adjacent to access road to Greenhill Farm, located in adjoining fields. Both trees suffering from die back but one in particular hollow in base of trunk. Aim is to reduce overhang to remove risk of damage but retain as much trees in landscape as practical. Trees to be regularly monitored / further pollarded as necessary. HAR/CA23, TPO 81E.

The tree order is a blanket order. The trees are predominantly crack willow and alder, rooted in the banks of the lake and its surrounding channels. The trees are too numerous to individually identify but a sketch plan of the area is attached. The area was once used for osier beds and is full of self-seeded trees, predominantly crack willow which have grown tall, thin and straight but are now leaning at severe angles and shedding limbs and starting to split and break up from the base. These trees run parallel to a neighbouring property's barns and outbuildings. Previously a tree fell in storms on a neighbouring barn. We have commenced work on the worst of the trees under a previous permission (DC/077859) but wish to continue. We wish to retain the woodland aspect but for safety remove any dead, dying and/or dangerous trees and coppice/ reduce in height the remaining self-seeded crack willow and alder with the intention of promoting a bushier growth at lower height. We also wish to cut back growth over hanging the water. We have a mixed hedge ready to plant along the boundary with the adjacent farm to act as a screen and enhance habitat. It is mixed deciduous trees (hawthorn, blackthorn, hornbeam, willow etc. TPO 10E.

The area was once used for osier beds and is full of self seeded trees, predominantly crack willow, which have grown tall, thin and straight but are leaning at severe angles and shedding limbs and are starting to split and break up from the base. This has been further evidenced after the recent storms and wet weather and attached image of a crack willow which has fallen on an adjacent barn. We intend to make this fallen tree safe over the next few days. The trees create a wooded walk around the lake which visitors to the park are encouraged to stroll around. We are currently closed due to the covid situation but wish to make the site safe in the interim. We wish to retain the wooded aspect but for the safety of pedestrians onsite and our neighbours property remove any dead, dying and/ or dangerous trees and coppice/ reduce in height the remaining self seeded crack willow and alder and cut back growth overhanging the water. We intend to plant a hedge line along a section of our boundary with the adjacent farm to act as a screen and enhance habitat. It will comprise of mixed deciduous trees (including hawthorn, hornbeam, blackthorn, willow etc for a length of approximately 200 metres. TPO#: 10E - W15
