Horse Chestnut (G1); Proposed work: partial crown reduction. The overall height of the crown is not planned to be reduced. The proposal is for reducing the spread of the crown on our side of the garden by removing some of the thin (not major) branches. Such branches (to be removed) are not expected to exceed 2 - 3 metres in length, with many of the branches proposed to be reduced much shorter than this. Therefore, even at the widest parts of the crown, we estimate a maximum of 2.5 metres of the spread will be reduced. At thinner parts of the crown, we estimate the reduction of the spread to be smaller, at 1 - 1.5 metres or below. Reasons for the work: the tree's crown is extending very far into our garden, getting very close to touching our roof/ guttering and is indeed even taller than our house. During high wind and storms, branches very often break and beat onto our roof and outer walls, and may therefore damage our property in the long term. HAR/CA9

We wish to remove a holly tree that has grown dangerously close to our neighbours house (no: 37) and in high wind is hitting the side of the gable end and roof, there is also root damage to the pathway between the properties . The neighbour is currently having to have part of the gable repaired. We do not feel any amenity value will be lost due to the removal of this tree as we have other threes within the garden but not near their property. - HAR/CA36

Reference: 162W Tree Number: T36 Species: Chilean Pine The Monkey Puzzle (Chilean Pine) is serious hazard. Firstly, the tree roots have already caused significant damage to the drive and are encroaching closer to the house so, left unresolved, I am worried they will have irreparable damage to the house foundations. I also do not know where the drains are positioned but if they can push up the brick driveway then I assume they could, and may already be causing damage to the drains. Secondly, and more importantly, the tree canopy is positioned right where we park our car. Big, dense branches are constantly falling down so they are a serious danger to our health and safety, particularly our young children. The branches are long and very heavy as they full of sharp, spikey leaves. The branches also fall onto the roof of the car causing scratches and dents. The plan is to remove the tree completely to solve both these dangerous issues. There is no plan to replace the tree as once there is more than 2 cars on the drive (this is the case when we have guests, carers, visit the house and will be a daily challenge as our children get older and have cars) it is impossible to turn the cars around resulting in us having to dangerously reverse onto a busy road (Bramhall Lane South). The tree is a very tall mature Scots Pine tree. Tree Preservation Order (no.15) 1964. Number A1 on the sketch. Ideally we want the tree to be cut down. Because it's so tall we are very worried that it may fall and damage our house. We have applied for this before and been refused. Our previous application number was DC/069815. If we cannot obtain permission for this, we want permission to cut all of the top branches as we don't want the top canopy. This is because the leaves fall off and go everywhere all over our driveway and on the roof. In addition, there are lots of birds and their droppings go on the roof and also in the driveway. This causes a lot of mess and we have to spend a lot of time cleaning it up. We do not have an expert report as of yet but will obtain one if it is necessary. We have beach tree located at the front of the property and it is coming very close to the house and the roof. Also overhanging the highway. We are looking to reduce and reshape by 20% secondary branches only that are reaching to close to the property. TPO#: 305E.

T1 Beech. Crown reduce 20%, as the tree is large and blocking light to the house and overhanging roof and properties. Tree maintenance, 10% crown thin, clean out and deadwood. Crown lift 6m (secondary branches only) over driveway and highway. TPO#: 116W.

Lyme (Tree 1) - Fell because of root damage to low wall, proximity to the house, shading which precludes installation of solar panels and damage to roof from dropped leaf waste, significant moss build up and blockage of gutters and downspouts. Roots are also causing damage to electrical ducting where the mains cables feed into the building and making the paving at the front of the house uneven. We intend to replant a more appropriate & lower crown breed such as beech, birch or cherry as advised. TPO#: 176E, TPO#: 193E.
