17 Park Road Heaton Moor Stockport SK4 4PY
We have recently moved into 17 Park road and are wishing to apply for removal of a large Birch tree in our back garden, due to a multitude of reasons. Firstly we have 2 young children and the tree takes up a large proportion of grass where they play. It's also causing excessive shading in the garden which can make the back of the house feel quite dark. The large canopy of the tree has created patches on the lawn where the grass has been unable to grow. We would hopefully like to restore the lawn but are unable to do that whilst it isn't getting any sunlight. The grass is also quite mossy where there isn't any sunlight and we'd like to try and improve its condition. Secondly the tree is located on the border of our lawn and drive. The large roots are causing damage to the drive which will likely get worse. We are also wanting to widen our drive over the next few years to enable us to get an electric car with an electric point in the garage. The current location of the tree would therefore make it difficult. HAR/CA15

Oak tree on the boundary . Our neighbour( 52 Motcombe Road) has asked for this application to fell the tree. Neighbour has complained that the root is causing lifting of one slab and cracking of another slab on a drive leading up to a stand alone detached garage. There is no damage to the main drive or the foundation of the garage. Their concern is for damage that may occur in the future. They have provided a report which suggests either felling of the tree or root reduction by trimming ( we have spoken to several tree surgeons who have refused to do any work on the roots as this could affect the future stability of the tree). T1. Sweet chestnut Middle The mature sweet chestnut near the garages has shed another low lateral branch. The branch had internal cracks from an earlier overload that subsequently fractured. I suggest the broken stub is cleaned off, the tree over the lawn area left but the heavy lateral branches over parking, driveway and path are thinned sympathetically to reduce loading without provoking regrowth, continuing the theme we started last time a branch fell on the lawn T2. Beech Rhs A lovely cut leaf beech on a 'tump', a couple of branches near the garage are reverting to 'normal' foliage and best practice is to cut these out T3. Rowan Lhs drive Reduce from building by 1-1.5m, it is getting close to the gutter T4. Holly Lhs entrance. Remove the dead part of one of the leaders, this tree looks better than it did last time I saw it T5. Sycamore Front lhc Remove the low branches overhanging the road/path to lift to 5m and clear the street lights' light throw T6. Beech Front lhs path side Ownership unsure, no obvious defects, one of the leaders has an unusual point of attachment in the main fork T7. Ash Rear lhs path side SMBC sound to have taken responsibility for this tree, there has been some recent work undertaken - HAR/CA26 , TPO#: T1 - 113W , TPO#: T3 - 113W , TPO#: T4 - 113W
