The trees are a sweet Chestnut (T1) and a beech tree (T2) on the sketch plan. Tree T1 is touching the roof of the house and if allowed to grow further could damage the roof tiles. T2 is much taller and overhangs the house. I would like to lop the offending branches off T1 and trim the overhanging branches of T2. The work proposed would reduce the volume of leaves falling into the gutters, make it more difficult for squirrels to get on the roof and then into the loft space, and would cut back the tree growth that has occurred since the last successful tree lopping application in December 20013.

Proposed removal of 2 trees close to our rear patio doors - 1 x Yew and 1 x Holly. The size of the trees have got a little out of control, with large amounts of debris / fallen leaves now falling on our living area. The trees grow inbetween 2 original large mature Scots Pine trees, which will not be touched. In addition to this, we have a large mature oak tree in a corner boundary, that while growing towards the light, is also growing predominantly over our garage/extension roof. We would like to ask for permission for a tree surgeon to take some of the weight out of the extremities of this tree, in addition to some heavy branches that are growing over our neighbour's boundary into No 9 Ferniehurst. Sweet Chestnut tree that is dead and in danger of collapsing on to the roof of our house, or possibly on to the road alongside. Paul Searle (arborist) has visited, confirmed that is dead, and that it needs to be felled.

Oak tree (T1) - when we moved here in 1991, this tree had been damaged, probably in the 1987 storm. The main trunk had broken and there was some growth from the side. There is now a large hole in the main trunk where it had been damaged and the branch that has now grown out is at risk of falling. See attached photograph named T1 with hole. AS you can see from the photograph, there is also a hole further down the trunk. We want to fell this tree. As there are other trees and shrubs adjacent to this tree, there is no space for a replacement tree. Sweet chestnut tree (T2) and beech tree (T3) - the branches of these two trees now extend over our garage close to the roof leading to the garage roof becoming covered in a thick layer of moss. There is also a risk of squirrels getting on to the roof from the overhanging branches. To prevent damage to the roof, we would like the lower branches of these two trees removed to provide 3 metres clearance between the branches and the garage roof. Oak tree (T4) - we would like to remove a large branch of this oak tree as it now extends over our apple and plum trees and garden leading to those trees not get enough light and restricted light in our greenhouse. The branch we want to remove is shown in the photograph named T4 with branch to be removed.

The reason for this application is to make the trees safe for the public and house owners. T3: Oak - Remove major deadwood. T4: Oak - Prune back the branch to clear the telephone cable by 1-1.5m, remove major deadwood, and lift the crown over the road to 5.5m. T5: Oak - Prune back the low canopy over neighbor driveway by 2-2.5m, and remove major deadwood, because of excessive shading. T6: Oak - Prune back the low canopy to clear the neighbor roof by 2m, and remove major deadwood.

T1 Mature Oak - Trees approx dimensions: Height 18 metres. Crown spread 10 metres. Located in no man's area adjacent to property No 41. The crown is overhanging property and in very close proximity to the roof. The proposed work - To prune back encroaching canopy by approximately 2 metres selecting suitable growth points to create a good clearance. This process has been done in the past my client informs me. Trees approx dimensions after pruning: Height 18 metres. Crown spread 8 metres.

T1 - Oak tree - Dead - Fell to ground level (Previously pollarded) T2 - Holly - Fell - Wholly overhangs boundary of 11 Portsmouth Road, so cutting back the overhang would leave a 6 ft stump G1 - Cut back overhanging branches from yews and hollies to boundary with 11 Portsmouth Road.
