T1 - Q. robur - fell to ground level due to stem decay and proximity to dwelling

1 x Wellingtonia first application to fell, that was submitted by myself on behalf of the client supported with picis survey. The council requested further proof and reports, I relayed this to the client who in turn has come back to me with a further report that has since been carried out. And they wish to fell the tree due to the safety aspect.

T1 To reduce sweet chestnut tree by 2-3 meters taking out any deadwood and crossing branches. The reason for this work is because branches have been breaking off when the weather is not windy so by reducing the tree will lower the risk of the branches breaking. Tree is currently located at the front of the property and it currently 20 meters tall and want to take down to 17-18 meters tall also the width is currently 7-8 meters would like to take these to 5-6 meters.

T1. Chestnut- Fell- Reason- Has a very poor reduction by previous contractor, Loos bark at the base with decay and hollowing on tap test. Very low amenity value with current form- Re planting will be completed in next planting season

1. Silver Birch - Dead - Remove. 2. Silver Birch Dead - Remove. 3. Laurel hedge along front road boundary - reduce height by approximately 1 foot and trim sides hard to tidy. 4. Conifer along front road boundary - reduce height by approximately 6m leaving an overall height of 6m and trim sides hard to tidy. 5. Silver birch in rear garden - dead - remove. 6. Scotts Pine in rear garden - carry out crown maintenance removing all major deadwood, rubbing and diseased branches. 7. Scotts Pine in rear garden - carry out crown maintenance removing all major deadwood, rubbing and diseased branches. 8. Scotts Pine in rear garden - carry out crown maintenance removing all major deadwood, rubbing and diseased branches. 9. Sycamore in rear garden - carry out approximately a 2m crown reduction and shape leaving an overall crown of 7m high and 5m wide (back to past reduction points). 10. 4 x Conifers along rear boundary - reduce height by approximately 1.5m.

T1 - Douglas Fir - fell - roots are causing obstruction and making the construction of a new driveway unviable.

Submission of details to comply with condition 4 and 5 (trees) attached to planning permission 22/0927/FFU for the erection of a single storey rear extension and a first floor front extension over the existing garage.

T1: Chestnut - To reduce in height by approximately 4-4.5 metres leaving a retained height of approximately 20 metres, reduce lateral growth by approximately 3 metres leaving retained branch length of 5-6. T2: Chestnut - To reduce in height by approximately 4-4.5 metres leaving a retained height of approximately 20 metres, reduce lateral growth by approximately 3 metres leaving retained branch length of 5-6 metres T3: Chestnut - To reduce in length by approximately 2-3 metres leaving a retained branch length of approximately 4-5 metres the lateral growth extending to the north and east. The above works are for safety management purposes due to recent large limbs failure. The works are to minimis the risk of limb due to historic limb failure and to maintain the trees at a more suitable height. Due to the location of the trees the risk is heigh as there is high footfall in this part of the garden. This risk mitigation will ensure future retention of the trees and allow the trees to retain a good structural form. The works would not be detrimental to the amenity value of the trees or the area.

We have two mature Sweet Chestnut trees in our rear garden. One of which, (T3) is displaying signs of butt rot and has deteriorated since our request for removal a few years ago. You will see from the attached tree report, which was carried out before our building work commenced that it was in fair condition, however, it's condition has really declined over the past few years and has therefore become an even greater concern to us. We have recently had two tree surgeons round to asses and both strongly advised removal. It is a very large unhealthy tree and could potentially cause massive damage to both our property and neighbouring properties should it fall in bad weather. You will see from the images attached evidence of the rotting, along with the roots which are now above ground. In the additional photo you will also see that it really lacked in foliage last year which can be compared to T2. We urge you to consider once again the removal of this dying tree.
