Erection of two sets of gates and Security Screens to prevent unauthorised access to a secire mooring area alongside Millers Wharf on the Huddersfield Narrow Canal in Stalybridge (please refer to Drgs 1 to 5 inclusive and the attached 'Detailed Notes and Specification) for details. Additionally it is proposed to improve security on an access point from the Miller's Wharf Apartments by raising the height of the gate and screen there. In all cases all of the new works will be less than 2m in height above adjacent ground levels and there will be no connection at all with the Listed Corn Mill building. This offside towpath is in the ownership of The Canal and River Trust and there are already a series of canal mooring rings in position and boats already moor here from time to time. The main aim of these proposals is to improve security for boaters in an area where there have been some issues in the past .
