16 Riverside Winchcombe Cheltenham Gloucestershire GL54 5JP

Deodar Cedar (Cedrus Deodara): The tree is situated on an elevated triangle of land adjacent to and belonging to 16 Riverside but surrounded on all three sides by public footpaths. Permission is sought to reduce the primary southern scaffold limb overhanging neighbours' property by 3.5m, the eastern extension by 1.5m, the north-east by 1.5m, cutting back to strong green secondary growth. The tree is mature but vigorous, and has grown further since work was undertaken in early 2021 to lighten the canpoy by removing dead and diseased wood down to 20mm in diameter. The tree is unbalanced with much greater spread to the south, where it drastically overhangs the neighbouring property, 18 Riverside, and to the east than other sides. I estimate the spread now to be 15.5m south, 12m east, 11m west, 11.5m north-east. Planning permission granted (21/0027/TPO) on 4 March 2021 also allowed the reduction of the primary southern scaffold limb by 2m, but this was not carried out.

Hatherley Manor Hotel Down Hatherley Lane Down Hatherley Gloucester Gloucestershire GL2 9QA

TPO 316 Trees along roadside in various states of health, size, age and position (some extend out into the road to an unacceptable degree). Some large dead branches recently came down in the road and the Hotel wish to make all the trees safe and maintain the clear passage of the highway. T1 and T2 on map (horse chestnuts): lowest branches rubbing against passing traffic. Proposed work is to reduce these branches back to clear the road, to suitable growth points or if none are available back to the main stem. G4 on map (Holm oak only): Large limb extends diagonally over boundary of road. Proposed work is to reduce tip weight by reducing of this limb by 1-2m to bring it back in line with the boundary edge.
