With the new development next door there is also a fair amount overhanging the boundary line. We currently have a tree just over our boundary line on the canal side, to which we have been made aware by one of the house boats is far too overgrown & tall. If this tree falls it could cause serious damage to the house boats in the nearby area, or worse.

Reduce height to around 8m and reduce remaining growth by around 3m. Reason - Tree appears to be in decline with standing and major deadwood visible throughout the crown. Wood pecker holes visible in upper stem. Large areas of missing bark and cambium necrosis to the SW of the stem and upper crown. Only 4x live limbs visible. Large section of standing deadwood over adjacent garden is potentially dangerous. To make safer and help rebalance.

Crown Spread Diameter - 9m Location - Front garden, front boundary Service - Crown Reduction Work Required - Sever and clear a 1m section of Ivy from the circumference of the stem. Remove major deadwood over 25mm diameter and/or over 1m length. Reduce remaining crown by around 1m height and 3m spread to manage as a framework pollard to reduce end weight/lever action on brittle wood and reduce potential for further failures. Climber to inspect union at 3m to south-east for decay. Remove branch stubs and tidy wound from recent branch failure to encourage proper healing. Reason - To reduce the potential for further branch failures.
