We propose removing all dead wood and trimming the overall height to 30-50% along this boundary line to restore safe distance from the house and remove risk of falling branches in 53 RS driveway. Crown Reduction to T5 English Oak (Category A): undertake 2 metre crown reduction to improve light levels as well as reducing future stress on the foundations of the new extension. Removal of deadwood and improving safety. Removal of Ornamental Cherry T2 (Category C): T2 is a semi-mature cherry tree close to the garage, its rooting area is notably poor being surrounded by paving and driveway. It has slender form and its canopy touches the garage roof-line. T2 is in close proximity of the house so its removal will reduce future stress on the foundations of the house and garage. We propose the removal and replanting of a new replacement cherry. Phased removal of G3 Cypress Group (Category C): The trees were planted to create screening and privacy, but have not been height managed and are now excessively tall. The trees have large stems, some less than 2m from the boundary walls and close to the foundations of the house and not sustainable. The trees' canopies touch the house and roof-line, creating excessive shade on the south eastern side of the garden. G3 cypress are still not mature and can be expected to continue vigorous growth, potentially creating issues and stresses on the house foundations. We propose a 'phased tree removal' of G3 cypress group over several years. The removal of G3 will have many advantages, including improving light levels to the eastern garden and will be highly beneficial to nearby groups of English Yew (G2) G1 Boundary Cypress Trees (Category C): This linear group of cypress located on the south western boundary, has been left to grow excessively tall over a period of time and requires maintenance. Reduce their height by 50% to allow more light into the garden and create a formal 2m hedge.

Beech T1 - Crown reduce back to previous points (approx 1.5m from height, 2m from sides) to prevent excessive shading the the front of the house. Beech T2 - Crown reduce entire canopy by no more than 2m to prevent excessive shading to the front of house. G1 - 2x Hornbeam, 1 x sycamore - Crown reduce Hornbeam's by approx 2m all over to create definition between the 2 trees and to prevent excessive shading. Sycamore to have all major deadwood removed over a diameter of 50mm and length of 1m. Canopy of the sycamore to also be crown reduced by 2m all over (to suitable growth points). Oak T3 - Tree has had multiple limbs tear out due to storms. The larger south east facing limb is showing signs of splitting internally which is most likely from excessive end weight to the previously torn out limb. The remainder of the tree has multiple smaller tear out wounds which are not correctly sealing and are also developing considerable end weight. Due to this i have recommended removal of the larger south east facing limb which is approximately 4m in length and 6 inches in diameter. To then compensate for this i will reduce the remainder of the tree by around 2m to suitable growth points which will rebalance the canopy. I will also removing the sections of deadwood. I will tidy any other previous tear out wounds with correct pruning cuts to aid the limbs sealing processes. The tree is over their garage and car parking area which is the reason for their concern. G2 - 2x sycamore - Reduce lower lateral limbs to provide a 3m clearance from garage. The lower limbs provide problems regarding leaf drop into their gutters and driveway. T4 - Blue Atlas Cedar - End weight reduction of lateral limbs (approx 1-1.5m) within the canopy to prevent potential limb failure. In particular the lowest south east facing limb where their children frequently play.

T1 Holly - Tree is covered in Ivy all the way up and is not in great health - Reduce to height of hedgerow to keep the tree and let it grow as part of the hedgerow. T2 Pine Tree - Tree is located in front of house - Lift lower limbs up to a height of 6M to clear shrubs and bushes underneath and also clear tree from growing towards house. T3 Holly - Tree is a shaped tree next to house - client does not want the tree there as they have small children they want to remove and replant something more suitable. T6 Holly - Tree is a twin stemmed tree growing inside a hedgerow covered in ivy and in decline as a result - reduce to height of hedgerow to retain tree . T7 Oak - Tree is located next to garage - Lift lower limbs going out over the garage to a height of 6M to clear garage roof. T8 Yew Tree - Tree is located in middle of back garden - reduce tree all round by 1.5M to give a better overall shape to the tree. T9 Cherry - Tree is located in back garden - a large Cherry tree showing signs of decline over the last few years - tree has a visible Fungal bracket on the bottom of Artist Fungus ( Ganoderma Applamatum) - fell tree before its structural integrity is comprised.
