Two trees both in my rear garden: Plan 1. Cherry tree. Decay in lower trunk. The tree has become tall, spindly and in poor condition. It represents a danger of collapse to both my shed and my neighbour's. We have already suffered a substantial branch falling on my shed. Proposed work: removal of tree. Plan 2. Ash. Whilst carrying out other work, it became clear there is decay to two out of the three stems probably resulting from works carried out perhaps some 20 or 30 years ago, by the previous owner. Many substantial branches have been shed, representing a danger to my grandchildren who play in this area. Proposed work to re-pollard all three stems to eliminate decayed timber and maintain shape and balance. The proposal is for crown thinning by up to 20% and crown height & lateral reduction by up to 2 metres, ensuring an aesthetic shape is maintained. Both trees are towards the rear of the garden.

Reduce the height and canopy of the trees by 2-3m as shown on the plan labelled T12 on the plan recently sent to us. The trees are very tall and need to be reduced to reduce the wind load on them. Branches also need to be reduced as they hang over the neighbours gardens and out houses. Crown Thinning - 20-30% Crown Lifting - 2-3 meters - raise above sheds Crown Reduction - 2-3 meters - reduce height

G1 - 4x groups of Hazel (Corylus avellana) - Rear garden, Approx Height - 7m. Approx Crown Spread Diameter - 6m Service - Crown Reduction Work required- Reduce by around 3m height and 1m spread. Remove 1 x Branch growing over lawn area (left hand tree with back to house, see photos) back to main stem (approx 4m length). Prune 4x smaller diameter branches on right hand tree (with back to house) that are growing over the neighbours shed, back to the fence line (approx 1.5m length) Reason - As part of regular cyclical maintenance, to keep at a manageable size for the space and reduce encroachment/debris over adjacent gardens.

T1 (on map provided) OAK Reduce left hand side by approx 2.5m, remove major deadwood and lift 1-1.5m above shed height to bring tree in to balance and clear shed

T1 - Elder - Right hand boundary Approx Height - 6m. Approx Spread - 3m Work required- Fell as close to tree's current ground level as possible and leave the stump in the ground Reason - tree is dead. T3 - ivy covered Lawson cypress - Rear boundary Approx Height - 7m Service - Pollard Work required- Fell to approximately 6ft. Reason - As part of continued maintenance G1 - Sycamore - Rear boundary Approx Height - 9m Work required - Cut back over garden by removing approximately 2m from clients side only. Remove 4x small dead trees and sever ivy. Reason - As part of regular maintenance T4 - Blue Cedar - Rear garden - centre. Approx Height - 15m Work required - crown lift to 2.5m above ground level Reason - To allow room for lawnmower. T6 - Elder & Sycamore - Left hand boundary Approx Height - 6-12m Work required - Crown lift to 1m above roof level level Reason - As part of continued maintenance T8 - Beech - Right hand boundary next to shed. Approx Height - 12m Work required - Crown lift removing 2 Lowest branches over shed. Crown lift to 5m above ground level Reason - As part of regular maintenance

T1 - Sycamore - c. 12m tall and 9m wide Fell - not a great specimen and has significant included bark. Felling in order for new shed to be erected, but owner is happy to plant a replacement elsewhere in the garden if required. T2 - Multi-stem Hawthorn (no. 0947) - c. 3m tall by 2m wide Reduce overhang into garden by approx 1m (leaving tree c. 2m tall by 1m tall) to allow space for new shed and to bring back into shape. T3 - Multi-stem Hawthorn to right of T2 (no. 0949) - c. 12m tall by 6m wide Reduce in height by approx. 3m and side by c. 1m (leaving the tree c. 9m tall by 5m wide). T4 - Laurel (no. 0948) - c. 9m tall by 9m wide Reduce all over by approx. 3m (leaving tree c. 6m tall by 6m wide) in order to get back into shape and a more manageable size. T5 - Goat Willow - c. 17m tall by 10m wide Crown lift to approx. 4-5m and reduce front lower overhang by approx. 3m to allow more light into the garden. (leaving tree c. 17m tall by 7m wide) T6 - Ash - c.16m tall by 9m wide Reduce front lower limbs by approx. 3m that are coming over the garden to allow more light in. (leaving tree c. 16m tall by 6m wide) T7 - Hazel (no.0945) - c. 9m tall by 9m wide Re-coppice (leaving approx. 2m tall) H1 - Mixed Hedge on left boundary - c.9m tall by 9m wide Reduce all overhang in garden, approx. 3-4m (leaving the hedge approx. 7m x 5m) The garden has been left for a number of years and everything is hugely overgrown. This work would get the garden back under control, allow more light in and reduce the overcrowding.

T1 - Horse chestnut x 1 - lift crown to clear shed by 1m, footpath by 2.5m and over roadway by 5m Reasons: the tree has now outgrown its location such that is significantly overhangs the shed, footpath and roadway.

4 - Lime - Reduce 2 x lowest branches back towards a boundary to suitable growth points. These trees have been heavily reduced on the top and on the owners side, but were left untouched over garden of Eversleigh, Solesbridge Lane, Chorleywood, WD3 5SW. This modest pruning is to abate the nuisance of the branches over-shadowing and touching the shed and to reduce shading to the rear of the garden

Pollard 2 x Sycamores reduce them down to approx 8.0m high. they are approximately 30 metres high currently i GPC Tree Surgeons has identified one tree in section G28 of the TPO740 as a macrocarpa tree and the TPO calls the tree an Atlantic Cedar. Proposal is to remove broken branches hanging in the trees see photo IMG_0559 which was snapped off in the snow storms 2 years ago, it is now dead and in risk of falling out unexpectedly so could injure anyone underneath and or damage the shed below the tree. In addition the proposal is to remove the widow makers (dead branches ) in the cedar trees. that are at risk of falling out unexpectedly damaging the sheds and greenhouse below or and injuring anyone below. I have had two benches smash into my green house recently and a branch fell on the shed when I was in it which has prompted me to get them sorted.
