485 Barnsley Road Wakefield WF2 6BP

Poplar trees T1 and T2 - fell or reduce in height because they being badly affected by the wind which is causing large branches to break off into adjacent properties. Neighbours have raised concerns about the falling branches because of children playing in the garden. The house at 60 Woolgreaves Drive WF2 6DR are getting the main impact and their fence and garden are regularly damaged by large falling branches.

21/00229/TPO | Tree Preservation Order Consent

2 Old Mount Farm Woolley Wakefield WF4 2LD

We initially communicated with the Council via Mr Stubbings who has now left the Council. In essence we have a huge cedar tree in our garden, less than 10 metres from the house and 2 metres from where our grandchildren play Although the tree is in a Conservation Area, we previously requested removal due to the potential danger, to us, our house and our grandchildren, and in return have offered to fund the planting of 2 trees in a location of the Councils choice, Mr Stubbings refused and placed a TPO on it The tree is not native and is over 2 times the height of our house and has recently dropped quite sizeable branches near to the house. Since it's over a year since we first asked, we've now been requested, via a conversation I had with local MP Mr Imran Khan (he subsequently got a response from Judy Jones) to submit a new application We haven't engaged an arborist, although we have had discussions with two and being honest they were professionally doubtful if they could 100% say the tree was a short term danger. However as I stated earlier it towers over twice the height of our house and is only 10 metres away from that and 2 from our grandkids play area. In previous discussions I only focussed on the danger factor, however there are several other concerns; . Every 6 months or so we have to have our gate repaired due to damage by the tree's growth . Likewise to the path we have needs to be lifted and reset . And also to the adjacent fence has been damaged . Our garden and that of our neighbours are devalued due to the lack of light and incessant dropping of pine needles . Our TV reception is inhibited and we have recently had to spend money to only partly resolve . The previous owner of the house cut the tree many years ago and it now sprouts 3 trunk's instead of one, so we have an ugly huge fir to contend with We're trying to be constructive and reasonable and thereby affirm our suggestion that we 100% fund the removal and planting of 2 new ones.
