21/02352/TCA | Notification of Tree Works in Cons. Area

16 Bretton Lane Bretton Wakefield WF4 4LA

T1 Leylandii Fell part of the crown recently split off into the highway leading to concerns about the trees ongoing stability. T2 & T3 Fell both. They are growing close to the boundary of the property with the canopy extending low over the highway. As T1 there is a risk of stems splitting into the highway. The removal of T 2 & T3 will also avoid complaints under the high hedges legislation from neighbouring property owners. Proposed replacement planting would be with native broadleaves including Rowan and Holly.

Hundhill House Hundhill Lane East Hardwick Pontefract WF8 3DZ

The trees in question are located along the boundary of our garden with Hundhill Lane and Sandygate Lane. Acer pseudoplatanus (T1) Pruning of heavy branches overhanging Hundhill Lane to rebalance the structure of the tree. Aesculus hippocastanum (T2) Felling of tree due to excessive Bracket Fungus and internal rot. The crown and large branches have previously fallen partially on to Hundhill Lane. Acer pseudoplatanus (T3) Felling of the tree completely. The tree has been decaying and dying over a number of years and is completely rotten with no foliage. Fagus sylvatica (T4) Felling of the tree completely. The tree is suffering from both crown and base rot and has already dropped branches on to Sandygate Lane. All four trees are of concern due to the close proximity of the roads. We are open to suggestions for re-planting but due to the area in question being heavily planted with a mix of large mature trees, possibly medium sized native trees maybe more suitable due to the raised position of the land.

23 Sotheron Croft Darrington Pontefract WF8 3AR

T1, T2, T3 - Sycamores to be reduced by approximately 2m +/- to nearest growth point back towards the boundary line, this will still leave an overhang of approximately 1/1.5m but to limit the visual impact of any work would not be prepared to reduce the width any further. The trees are creating excess shading to the properties on Southern croft and a reduction to the width which would also reduce some of the thickness would help to reduce this issue.

24 Laburnum Road Wakefield WF1 3QS

Sycamore tree TPO reference TPO/09/00017/I This mature tree overhangs my boundary and a number of branches are now hanging close to the roof of my property. I am concerned that in the near future the tree will touch my property and cause damage. Heavy winds could also cause the tree to make contact with my property and/or a heavy snow fall could lead to the weighted branches touching and causing damage to my property. I would like to request that this tree is trimmed by the tree surgeon I have consulted at S R Trees. We propose a 4-5m clearance between my property and the tree branches. The sketch plan provided also shows two limbs that we would like to remove as part of these works, which are those hanging closest to the roof of my property. You will see in the photos provided that this tree is very unbalanced due to previous trimming on the opposite side, the side accessible from 8 Cardigan Terrace. The works outlined here will help to address this issue and will benefit the Sycamore. Please note that I took ownership of 24 Laburnum Road last year and accept my responsibility to manage this tree accordingly in the future.

Unidentifiable as the tree is not in leaf at the moment - the tree branches are growing over into the adjacent property (a rental property) and the tree is hitting the house roof when it is windy. This application, on behalf of the letting agent, is prune any overhanging branches back to the boundary. Permission has been granted from the landowner and Wakefield Council currently maintain the church grounds.

The Gatehouse Manygates Lane Wakefield WF1 5NJ

The property has two TPO's for Lime trees. In the original planning application submitted (prior to our purchase) a plan was outlined to put protective fencing up and protect 3 trees, one of which has no TPO against it. For the purpose of this application I will identify them as follows: TR1: Tree at the back of the property NOT under a TPO (see sketch) TR2: Lime Tree at the top right of the property. A lime tree under a TPO (T1) TR3: A lime tree that has already had prior approval to remove and replace in line with planning application : 20/01204/FUL The original tree protection plan associated to the planning application was submitted by Iain Tavendale. Iain had never been to the property and therefore the issues outline below have not previously been raised. The issues are summarised as follows: 1. TR1: Tree not covered by the TPO. The root of this tree has embedded into the brick work on the boundary of the property causing the brickwork to become unstable. This is not only causing damage to the boundary of the property, but more importantly causing imminent danger to neighboring residents. The other side of the boundary is a drop onto another property. If the brick work falls, it could cause serious injury. As this is not covered by a TPO but was submitted to be protected in the original plan we would like to remove this tree and replace the brickwork. Pictures and supporting evidence has been supplied. Please see Image 1 and Image 2. TR2: This is a Lime tree that is covered by an existing TPO. The root of this tree are also going into the brickwork of the boundary wall and causing damage. As the brickwork isn't high (like TR1) there is no imminent risk of danger to the public. As there is no imminent risk to the public we do not need to immediately remove the tree. In the first instance we would like permission to trim parts of the tree overhanging onto the public footpath and trim the additional tree branches growing out of the base of the tree (pic...

The Chalet Boyne Hill Chapelthorpe Wakefield WF4 3JH

We have been contacted by Amey as the lime trees are obscuring light from a street light located directly outside the boundary wall of the property. We are currently having our drains lined and repaired due to tree roots destruction. One of the lime trees is also pressing against our boundary wall and is beginning to lean and at risk of collapsing. (See orange and red marks on plan, either side of the streetlight - green) Following a visit from the tree surgeon, he commented that both are in a poor condition and showing signs of die back. He recommended both trees to be felled/removed due to the poor quality and condition. He also commented that both are not good specimens of tree and hang over public rights of way; the poor condition of both trees and the signs of die back both pose a risk to public safety.
