T1841 Remove Dead branches. T1842 Reduce overall length of branches over car park back to the historic pruning points. T1843 Crown reduce canopy over road. T1844 Remove failed and Dead branches. T1845 Remove failed and Dead branches. T1846 Fell Tree; T1847 Remove Deadwood. T1848 Reduce length of lower primary branch over neighbours garden. T1849 Crown reduce lowest primary branch on east side to curb development and reduce weight. T1850 Remove Deadwood. T1846 (Ash) is further down this line of trees and is in severe decline due to Ash Dieback disease. This tree will continue to decline, and the wood will become brittle, causing small diameter branch loss initially and larger branch loss in the longer term. Therefore, this tree requires removal, and a suitable replacement tree should be planted nearby. T1847 (Sycamore) has become 'stag-headed' which is where the top dies, but the lower canopy can still be healthy. In the short to medium term, the dead parts of the canopy should be removed. T1848 (Ash) has a large branch growing over the neighbour's garden which is showing signs of adaption where the branch meets the parent stem. This is likely to be caused by the tree responding to the formation of a crack, by laying down extra wood to try and even out any stresses. Unfortunately, there is a historic pruning wound on top of this branch near the area of the crack and the associated decay pocket means this is a point of weakness. The branch is elongated and is starting to develop outside the canopy on the neighbour's side and therefore, I recommend a reduction in length of this branch to reduce end weight and the risk of failure. T1849 (Horse Chestnut) is growing next to the entrance footpath and driveway. The lowest primary branch on the eastern side is elongated and developing outside the canopy. Along t...

Woodlands Between Woodland Road (WF2 9DR) And Woodland Rise (WF2 9DN) Wakefield WF2 9DN

This is an application for further consent to that granted on 23 September 2019 under application number 19/01278/TPO. The details are identical and repeated below. There period of consent was for two years but it would be beneficial form a financial perspective if this could be extended to 5 years. Works advised by Samual Donington of S&D Landscapes (report 'WRA_21-02' in supporting documents) to minimise risks and encourage further development of non-Sycamore specimens as part of the ongoing plan to increase diversity of species in the woodland, as follows: Risk Reduction . Cut back or remove any encroachment of trees and shrubs into the carriageway area of Woodland Road (also remove deadwood in trees overhanging the public carriageways and footways of Woodland Road and Woodland Rise). Encouraging Young Desirable Diverse Trees . Over the next 5 years, continue progressively working from the southern end of the woodland selecting individual non-Sycamore specimens for encouragement (Table WRA_21-03 in supporting documents shows a summary of the tree specimens in the woodland, including those planted over the past 28 years). . Clear all ground cover from under the canopy of the selected specimens, mulch cleared area, remove or prune nearby competing young trees up to 75mm diameter at 1.3m and other vegetation and remove deadwood from trees overhanging the selected specimens. . Remove basal tree shoots and low-level weak branches up to 45mm diameter from specimens to be encouraged and from nearby more mature trees. . The selection of specimens to be removed, pruned or encouraged will be made by S&D Landscapes (in discussion with the Council if required) based on their relative merits, proximity to other trees, chances of survival and likely success after pruning, if necessary by selecting only one for encouragement out of a group of closely spaced young trees or saplings of the same or different species and removing others to reduce competition. . Remove all you...
