Listed building consent to move the ticket gate controls out of the ticket office and install two ticket gate controls unit and video help point control unit (for remotely controlled ticket gates in the archway platform access) between the existing waiting room and the ticket hall. These works will require the removal of the existing door and glazed side screen to provide a location for the two control units and a member of staff without interfering with passenger access through the gates. No structural alterations are required. It is proposed to carefully remove the door leaf and the glazed screen panel but retain the existing outer frame and architrave which can be made good and redecorated if required. The control units will be fixed into the existing contemporary tiled floor finish. The sections that are removed are to be stored securely within the existing station building's heated store room, where conditions are stable and suitable, to be available should they be reinstated at any time in the future.
