APPLICATION FOR WORKS TO PROTECTED TREE(S) TPO REFERENCE: 1187/2007 I have spoken to a tree surgeon who has said it would be advisable to cut back to the back fence of our property. This is seriously overhanging in our garden and I am constantly having branches falling in our garden it is nor far from the back of our house now and will be touching the house in the not too distant future. It is causing shading in our garden too.

APPLICATION FOR WORKS TO PROTECTED TREE(S) TPO REFERENCE 1369/2010 W1 Maple. Tree grown through the bottom of the fence. Root ball directly on the fence line. Very ragged ugly trunk. Damaged summer house (now removed). Does not appear listed on the TPO. Need to confirm if this needs planning to trim or remove. I really want to remove the tree. There is beautiful lime about 3 feet behind that i suspect the maple is now encroaching on the roots of. If i cannot remove this then I propose removing the left hand trunk and reducing the right hand trunk down to 5 meters in height. The tree is split and damaged above 5 meters on both trunks and poses a risk. Even today the tree has dropped some very large branches.

Works to a TPO tree. TPO reference no. 782 1996 Front Garden T1) Silver Birch Betchula pendular Findings: Tree situated in front garden, directly in front of the front door. Mature. Driveway and house in root protection zone and below canopy. Historical pollard pruning technique used has created a poor crown structure, with decay present at old pruning points that are now a point of potential failure. Tree has previously been reduced successfully to manage the crown size. Recommendations: Reduce crown by approximately 20% removing approximately 2m from the trees hight and side growth. Removal of all major dead wood. Raise crown to approximately 3m by removing secondary pendular growth. Reasons For Work Listed Above Because there is the likelihood that property may be damaged and/or for the health and safety of people/life. A crown reduction will reduce the chance of branch failure. T2) Silver Birch Betchula pendular Findings: Tree situated in front garden, close to house on the left hand front side as you face the building. Medium Mature. Historical pollard pruning technique used has created a pore crown structure, with decay present at old pruning points that are now a point of potential failure. Recommendations: "Medium Priority" Remove dead wood. Reduce crown regrowth by approximately 20% removing 2m from hight and 1m from side growth. Reasons For Work Listed Above Because there is the likelihood that property may be damaged and/or for the health and safety of people/life. A crown reduction will reduce the chance of branch/union failures.
