Extension 1. The application is for a renewal of an identical application that was approved in 2016. 2. The site currently accommodates a small house and two sheds. It is bounded by residential property on two sides, a paddock to the rear and is on the residential fringe of Westleton. The prevailing scale in the neighbourhood is varied with traditional one and two storey dwellings with one much larger property next door. 3. The existing house is to be extended to provide a single storey garage and an additional bedroom and ground floor bathroom to make the accommodation more modern and flexible. 4. The proposed dwelling will have no openings onto neighbouring properties and is screened by hedges and fences with the principal trees and boundary hedging and fencing being retained. 5. Highway access, bin and oil storage will be unchanged. 6. The exception is to increase the height of the existing perimeter willow fence to up to 3 meters (to graduate up after a minimum of 4 meters from the roadway) along the boundary between the cottage and the new building next door to improve privacy for both buildings following the new build increasing the land elevation in their back garden and increased scale of overlooking windows. 7. External materials are limited to brick and tiling compatible with local styles. 8. No biodiversity issues are presented by the proposals. 9. The site has been checked for contamination in 2017 and 2019 with no issues being found. 10. The site is not within a Conservation Area and the building is not listed.

2m clearance with a crown lift on horse chestnut tree (T1) that has one singular low bough that is very close to shed. Cut to ground level 5 No. cypress trees (T2 - T6) to the right of chestnut and oak trees, sitting further forward than small ones that are on back fence, to give further space and light in the garden and free up room for the mature trees they like, all from left to right, In garden with house to back.

T1 - Oak - 17.5m/14.5m - To crown raise rouge extended branch ends dangling on the shed and fence to approximately 4.0m. To reduce 1 section of crown by 1.5-2.0m growing towards the house to reshape structure and to reduce 1 section of crown by 1.5m growing towards neighbours to reshape structure.

4 large Conifer trees labelled 1-4 on the sketch plan. The plan is to remove them down to ground level . They are blocking significant amounts of light and are disrupting the driveway of Andway Cottage, two nearby fences and the shed of 3 Paynes Meadow. They appear to be the only conifer trees on 3 Paynes Meadow and Andway Cottage properties; other trees nearby on Pyotts Hill all appear to be deciduous so they seem out of place in comparison. See conifer tree photos document. 1 Hazel tree (tree 5) & 4 Beech trees - labelled 6-9 on the sketch plan. The plan is to remove them down to ground level. They are very close to the house, less than a meter, and are blocking significant amounts of light and overhanging the roof of Andway Cottage contributing to moss growth on the roof and blocked gutters. Hi, we aim to remove the tree at the rear right hand side of the garden. We have just recently moved into the property and it is clear to us that when fully covered with leaves the tree covers the garden of light through the morning and early afternoon. The tree is also pushing our fence line at the back of the property. We would also like to direct a bike/shed/green house/vegetable patch at the rear of our garden.
